The Forbidden Fuel was originally published in 1982 by W. Boyd Griffin to a good deal of critical acclaim. Although not a best seller, the Forbidden Fuel was a labor of love by the authors — Hal Bernton, William Kovarik and Scott Sklar — who felt that the subject deserved more serious treatment than it had received. The Forbidden Fuel is being republished in 2010 in order to help inform the modern debate on ethanol. Although a complete revision was not possible, this companion web site will update readers with the ongoing historical exploration and recent developments in the international biofuels industry.
